Holiday Arm Work – Quick & Easy at Home!

Even during the holidays, it’s easy to keep your arms strong and toned with these simple exercises you can do anywhere, anytime! All you need is a light set of weights (or even tins of food!) and a Theraband.

Bicep Curls (with weights/tins):

  • Lower with control. Repeat 10-12 times.
  • Hold weights with palms facing forward.
  • Stand or sit tall, shoulders relaxed and retracted, core engaged.
  • Slowly curl the weights towards your shoulders, squeezing your biceps.

Theraband Rows (seated or standing):

  • Anchor the Theraband around a sturdy object or a foot (if seated).
  • Hold the ends of the band with both hands, palms facing each other.
  • Keeping your back straight, pull the band towards your sides, squeezing your shoulder blades together.
  • Control the release back to the start. Repeat 10-12 times.

Shoulder Presses (with weights/tins):

  • Stand or sit tall, holding weights at shoulder height, palms facing forward.
  • Press the weights directly overhead until your arms are almost straight.
  • Lower with control back to shoulder height. Repeat 10-12 times.

Remember to consult with a professional if you have any pre-existing conditions.

Quick tip: if you want to get some weights for home, try Kmart. They are fantastic value and sturdy. They have hand weights, plates, kettles and plenty of other good things.
