The Garuda method of exercise is a hybrid of many aspects of Pilates, dance, yoga, tai chi and other movement methods, taking them further and providing expanded and sometimes challenging movement possibilities.
There are mat, barre and chair routines, and the specialist equipment – such as the Garuda Apparatus.
UK based dancer and teacher, James D’Silva, who developed the Garuda exercise method, continually updates and invents. His unique form of exercise is based on a movement system of flow, rhythm and grace, that provides a cardiovascular workout but also focuses the mind into relaxation.
Activate is one of the only practices in Sydney, that offers the Garuda method on the apparatus and barre work.
