Yes all the time! It is often standard practice for a surgeon to prescribe their specific protocol of management post operation, and physiotherapists are a huge part of assisting with that process. We help by explaining, supporting and supervising progressions in your post op management regime. This often involves graded exercise programmes. We work with work place, dance school teachers and sports coaches to communicate these progress steps. Our aim is getting you back to pain free, full function.

You do not need a referral from a doctor to see a physiotherapist in Australia.

However we often work in consultation with a registered health professionals like your doctor, physio, osteopath or podiatrist, who can refer people to Activate Physio Pilates for specific assistance with physio supervised tailored exercise rehab programmes.

We also receive referrals from many other people including massage therapists, acupuncturists, Pilates instructors and from clients themselves who are happy with our help.

No. Medicare does not cover physiotherapy unless you have a Chronic Disease Management Plan (previously Enhanced Primary Care Plan or EPC) that has been given to you by your doctor.

If you speak with your doctor and are eligible for the Chronic Disease Management Plan, please tell us when you book your appointment. The Chronic Disease Management Plan entitles you to up to five physiotherapy treatment sessions per calendar year. We claim these Chronic Disease Management Plan treatment sessions on the spot electronically, this means that you will only pay the gap payment for these visits.

Yes, however please contact our admin staff to ask about our availability to take on the work involved with Work Cover and CTP claims. Eg. Extra paper work.

Our policy: We require all work cover and CTP clients to pay for their physio and exercise rehab sessions at the time of their appointment. We will provide a payment receipt to the client, so they can organise their payment back from their insurance company. Please contact Susie if you are a dancer and you have queries about this policy.

We facilitate your health fund claiming on the spot via our HICAPS system. Just bring your card with you. Claiming is available if you have Physiotherapy included in your health fund policy. Whilst we endeavour to have a Physiotherapist  or Exercise Physiologist on with a Pilates instructor in the exercise studio, supervising the sessions, we are unable to guarantee it in all cases. Most health funds require direct Physiotherapist’s supervision for claimable sessions. Please contact your health fund for all regulations and requirements regarding claiming and your individual policy.

We have a 24 hour cancellation/no show policy.

However, we understand that sometimes you need to cancel or reschedule appointments. We ask that if you need to cancel or reschedule, you do so 24 hours prior to the appointment.

This allows us to offer the time to other people waiting for an appointment.
